Child Support
Maryland has very specific guidelines for determining child support
obligations. Each party has a
responsibility to contribute to the support of their child(ren). The Maryland Child Support Guidelines may

Support obligations are
largely calculated on gross income, with consideration given to payment of
health insurance premiums and child care costs.
Potential litigants should
keep copies of all monthly bills and pay check stubs. When child support or alimony is at issues
in a case, the parties are required to complete and file financial
statements. By keeping track of
monthly bills, one can keep track of his or her monthly expenditures, and
accurately report the same in the financial statement.
